5 Things to Look for when Hiring a Face Painter

Hiring a face painter is always exciting and a fun addition to any party or event. However, if you haven't hired one in the past, it can be hard to chose a face painter that will deliver a great experience to your guests.

In this blog, we have added ways to make an informed decision.

  1. Look for a face painter that uses cosmetic-grade paints, makeup and adhesives. There are paints made specially for the skin and a good face painter will invest in their equipment and paints. Using craft paints on skin can cause an allergic reaction and is best to avoid at all costs.

  2. Look for a face painter with good hygiene practices. A good face painter will rinse their brushes between uses, use only 1 sponge per child and change their paint water regularly. They will also not paint sick children or guests to avoid spreading the sickness to others they paint.

  3. Look for a face painter from referrals. Ideally, first hand referrals are preferred, if possible. If not, look at Google Reviews, Facebook Reviews, etc. An experienced face painter will have been around long enough to have reviews available for potential clients.

  4. Look for a face painter that carries insurance. Accidents can happen and a good face painter will always carry liability insurance for any accident that occurs during your event.

  5. Look for a face painter that has a portfolio of their own work. A good face painter will use images of work they have done themselves. Avoid hiring someone that uses other painters work as their own. The quality you may get during your event may be different than they display if they do not use their own work.
